Ellie Goulding is a young brit that has a catchy electronica-driven song cruising right up the pop charts. Easy to listen to. I didn’t invest much energy thinking about her more.

Ah.

But. Then I happened to come across an in studio radio show performance of her song Starry Eyed. Well. It opened my eyes a little.

Her cover of Elton John’s “Your Song” reached number two in the UK in December 2010 and she performed the song at the wedding reception of Prince William and Kate Middleton at Buckingham Palace. It is an interesting interpretation of the song <of which I am not sure I would have had the balls to tackle because I am fairly sure no one will ever be able to deliver Your Song the way it is truly supposed to be delivered other than Elton himself>.

She is an avid runner, running six miles every day, and in 2010 announced a plan to run a marathon. Even cooler is that in support of her album, Run Into the Light, she invited a small number of fans through her Facebook pages, to run with her in seven different cities on her UK tour.

Anyway.

I am not sure I will go out of my way to listen to her stuff but I was surprised by her real singing talent and wanted to give her some credit.
