the devil always gets its due

“Whatever choice you make, The Devil gets his due eventually.”

Life is neither balanced or proportional and neither is it, generally speaking, fair or unfair. Life just is what it is which is, well, indifferent. I sometimes believe its good to remind ourselves of that because we give both successes and failures just a bit more emphasis then they most likely deserve. What I mean by that is successes encourage us to believe more successes are on the horizon and failures encourage us to believe more failures are on the horizon. All, and none, of that is true.

What I do know to be true is that if you don’t keep moving, Life will run you over.

What I mean by that is you can make the greatest decision in the world and if you stop too long to enjoy the moment … well … the devil <who apparently never rests> will recognize that moment as an opportunity to fuck with you.

I imagine the bigger message the Devil offers is be prepared for “what’s next” as soon as you have finished whatever it is you just did.

I am not sure what that says about Hell.

Does that mean we live in Hell in that we can never rest? Does it mean Hell resides in some place which awaits your moment of stillness to step in front of you?

Hell. I don’t know. All I really know is there is hell to pay no matter what you do so you may as well do something and do something you want to do. Ponder.
