where the boys are at French open today

happier than a bird with a french fry

Another French Open update.

Ok.

Today at the French Open it was standing room only on court 2 and surprisingly there wasn’t a woman in the crowd.

Seating is on a first come first served basis at court 2 so it’s important to get there as early as possible to secure seats. And today thousands of men were lining up outside to get in.

Court 2 is an “outside court” but still one of the key courts for good players. (note: I believe this is the court I saw Mark Philippoussis– who was the ‘original tall tennis player’ 6’6” or something like that – hit a kick serve that landed in but bounced completely over the head of Stefan Edberg and out of the court)

Anyway.

All the boys are heading over to court 2 today.

(why you may ask … and even if you don’t here you go)

OMG.

Who decided they should play together?

Just to be clear this is a tennis post.

They are both good players.

Hantuchova, from Slovakia, one of the best doubles players in the world and a top 25 singles player. Wozniaki, from Denmark and has a website in Denmark dedicated solely to her breasts, is an excellent singles player (maybe top 5?) and I have no clue whether she can play doubles well … but dammit I would still go watch them play to see.

Now. What made it tough for the guys to get in was that in some scheduling snafu (of which we may as well blame the French because we like to blame them for everything anyway … and this is in France too) they played the Williams sisters (who are an awesome doubles team) so there were a boatload of non-men people who wanted to see the match just because there were some frickin’ good doubles players on the court.

Still.

Hantuchova/Wozniaki would have filled the seats even if they had played a no-show for 2 sets.

Boy … I miss going to the French open.
