eyes wide open song

Ok.

When I heard Gotye’s “somebody I used to know “ I knew it would be a popular radio song but I wasn’t a big fan of the actual song <and disliked the video as weird>. The song had some neat aspects <loved the Kimbra duet> but in general it was kind of aggravatingly sounding.

But.

Now Gotye has a new song on the radio. And I would like to take some credit in that in my January 20th post on Gotye I threw in this song as an extra in that post.

Uhm. I should also take credit for the fact I immediately forgot about that song.

Now that I heard it on the radio I predict it will zoom up the charts. And I actually like it <although the video, once again, it odd>. It’s called Eyes Wide Open. It reminds me of Kate Bush’s “running up that hill” <that is a good thing … because that is a good song … okay … a great song>.

Great song. Crappy video. Kate Bush Running up that Hill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp43OdtAAkM&feature=fvwrel

Oh.

And because I included the original I had to include Placebo’s cover of the original. It is EXCELLENT. And the video may be one of the most overlooked intensely well done videos ever done to an appropriate song. Great song. Great video. Oops. This was supposed to be about Gotye’s new song. Well. Now that you have heard Running up that Hill you may as well listen to Eyes Wide Open.

Good song.

And it sounds gooder on the radio.
