gomez options

ok.

Talk about quirky bands and quirky music.  That would be Gomez.

This band has one of my favorite songs of all time – a 2006 song called See the World:

(an awesomely quirky good video to go along with the song … one of the few times that the video matches the song)

The band?

Gomez are an English indie rock band with Ian Ball (vocals, guitar), Paul “Blackie” Blackburn (bass), Tom Gray (vocals, guitars, keyboards), Ben Ottewell (vocals, guitars) and Olly Peacock (drums, synths, computers). The band is unique in that it has three singers and four songwriters. Their sound is certainly unique and quite versatile combining electronic and traditional instruments and, musically, has components of blues, indie, alternative, rock, folk, psychedelic and experimental.

And they have a new song.

It is hooky and quirky and interesting and fun to listen to. A great ‘riding in the car’ song.

Lastly.

A remake.

Gomez was selected by Philips Electronics to remake the Beatles “getting better” for an advertising campaign and did a fine job:

enjoy.  This is my new music for the day.
